Will Wolff's wife be the new FIA president?
2025-02-27
Many are dissatisfied with the performance of Mohammed ben Sulayem, the FIA president. The members of the organization are tense, the drivers are nervous, and even the simple fans believe that the direction in which the sport is heading is not good...
In December, elections will be held at the motorsport federation, and it now seems very likely that alongside the dissatisfaction, Sulayem will face another strong challenger.
It was his idea to implement the sport's most childish move ever, punishing swearing drivers, which has even been tightened for 2025. Then there is the violation of the Monaco Grand Prix with additional pit stops, to mention just the tip of the iceberg, not to mention that due to the dictatorial behavior of the sports leader, a bunch of valuable professionals have left the federation. More and more people believe that the FIA is no longer "a free organization," which raises serious concerns.
According to some media outlets, Susie Wolff is seriously considering the possibility of running for the presidency. Toto Wolff's wife also has personal grievances and involvement concerning Sulayem, as the latter investigated (or would have investigated) the Wolff couple for conflict of interest in 2023. The issue caused such outrage that the head of the FIA quickly backtracked, but the thorn surely still lies with the other party. Sulayem has only responded so far by saying he is happy if he has a female challenger in the election.
Then it will be revealed how sincere this joy is...
