Honda exited Formula 1 in a way that it didn't really go anywhere, and soon it will launch another factory project, this time on the Aston Martin Racing side. Naturally, they will also have a say in who the greens choose for their cars...

The head of Honda Racing Corporation, Koji Watanabe, confirmed this and hinted at who the potential candidates might be:

"There are more and more drivers, but the number of seats is limited. As a factory team, we will continue to play a significant role and have an impact on who will be the drivers that will lead our car in the project we are undertaking with Aston Martin. Whoever our driver is, we are planning for the long term with them. We have candidates, and we know both of them very well.

The team will have the final word, but the basic setup is the same as it is now with Red Bull. We will have a serious say in the cardinal questions. I would also like to emphasize that it is a great joy for us to work with Adrian Newey again; we will do everything to be competitive." - stated the leader, who knows both of them (meaning, he knows Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda very well).
