Trouble for Ferrari - Would Leclerc leave?

Although the preseason moments of Lewis Hamilton dipped in sugar seemed to promise wonderful years ahead, it increasingly looks like the opposite will come true.
Namely, the Italian Corriere della Sera, which has a pretty good relationship with Charles Leclerc's inner circle, reported that the driver's "trust index" has significantly plummeted regarding Scuderia Ferrari. So much so that he might even be willing to leave the reds' ranks (reportedly, the Mercedes team would welcome him with open arms). The mentioned paper also states that there is an exit clause in Leclerc's contract that would theoretically allow all of this...
Of course, the affected party himself has vehemently tried to deny all of this during the Canadian Grand Prix press day, claiming that there is nothing to see here:
"This whole rumor surprised me a lot, and I absolutely don't know where it started. So naturally, I don't deal with it, I ignore it; I never said anything like that after the last races or at any other time. In fact, I keep explaining how much I desire to bring Scuderia back to the top." - Leclerc assured the Tifosi of his commitment, only to crash his car during FP1.
Where there's smoke, there's fire, and in Formula 1 and life, the only certainty is death.
