This is how Verstappen can become WORLD CHAMPION in Las Vegas.

The essence and what is most important is that if Max Verstappen wins his next race, there is no question, he is the world champion. If he does not succeed, the championship crowning could still happen in Las Vegas, or Lando Norris might avoid it...

Here's how:

If Verstappen finishes second, Norris must win to keep his mathematical chances alive.

If Verstappen finishes third, Norris must at least finish second. However, if the Red Bull driver also sets the fastest lap, it would still mean the championship title for him.

If Verstappen finishes fourth, Norris needs at least third place to keep hope alive. If the Dutchman finishes fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, or ninth, then Norris must finish at least two positions ahead of him. If Norris sets the fastest lap of the race, he only needs to finish one place ahead to remain (theoretically) in contention. If Verstappen finishes tenth, Norris must be in the top eight. Finally, if Verstappen scores no points, Norris would need to finish at least ninth, of course, with the fastest lap as well.
