Minardi: "Lawson is sh*t because of Verstappen..."

In these days, many people are “analyzing” Liam Lawson's poor season opener in various ways. However, former team principal Giancarlo Minardi does not share the public opinion. He believes that Lawson is not to blame for his performance.

Much more so is Max Verstappen, who, alongside his undeniable successes, has made Red Bull Racing top-heavy. Verstappen is the center, everything is built around him, making it very difficult to perform well:

“At Red Bull, the problems causing one driver to struggle are not what most people think or suggest. As Verstappen's teammate, everyone starts with a huge handicap, and not because the Dutchman is so incredibly good. Much more so, it is because everything, down to the very last screw, is tailored and set up for him, and this has caused all of his teammates to suffer. And Liam Lawson cannot cope with this either. Simply put, this should not be allowed in an optimal situation, but due to the impact of successes, Max has such a voice now that he can easily lobby for this for himself.” - defended the young Lawson by the Italian veteran expert.
