Marko: "We know that Max is not happy with us..."
2025-03-28
Helmut Marko and his team did another typical nonsense that fits perfectly into the Red Bull Racing pattern this week by dropping Liam Lawson after just two races. Not only is the mentioned driver unhappy about this.
But the team's icon, Max Verstappen, is also not pleased. Verstappen has already shown numerous signs that he is not satisfied with his situation at RBR, and this might be another push for him in a different direction...
"We are aware that Max is not happy right now. But he also needs to understand that we need two cars, not just for the constructors' championship. Much more so to help him secure another world championship title. Strategically, both of our cars are needed in the top positions, and we hope that Yuki Tsunoda will live up to the expectations placed on him. Yuki arrives in good form, and if he can deliver that here as well, it will benefit Max. We didn't choose him earlier because he wasn't balanced enough. However, Lawson cracked under pressure, fell into a negative spiral, and was unable to get out of it. He found himself in a situation like a boxer who is being counted out. We made a mistake not recognizing this weakness earlier." - said Marko, likely adding more fuel to the Verstappen/Aston Martin "rumors."
