Leclerc: "It's still quiet, but the pole is my goal"
2025-03-14
Charles Leclerc made a great impression in the first two practice sessions of the year, first as the third fastest, but then he spoke as the fastest driver. And he was quite determined about it.
In FP2, the Ferrari driver managed to outpace both McLarens, and finishing ahead of the secret favorite is never a bad recommendation. Leclerc isn't making a big deal out of it, but...
“It was very good. We managed to prepare perfectly for the second practice session because the car was very drivable, it felt like it delivered maximum performance. Of course, there are things we still need to adjust and improve, for example, I'm not completely satisfied with the balance, but we are definitely in a much better position than in Bahrain, during the tests. I want to stay grounded, but after a day like this, I am really looking forward to tomorrow and trying to aim for the pole position!
At the same time, it’s important to highlight that we still haven't seen the true performance from the others. Some are hiding more, others less, but McLaren will definitely be at the top. Currently, we see Red Bull struggling, but they are Red Bull Racing, you can never know with them... Especially with Max Verstappen, it would be a huge mistake to underestimate him at any point; I’m sure they will be tough competitors, just like Mercedes. An exciting day awaits us!” - said Charles Leclerc with gentle confidence.
