According to the renowned F1 journalist, the McLaren team is doing a fantastic job with their car, which they have shaped into a top championship contender in just three years. However, he believes that the caliber of their drivers falls far short of the team's level, as Max Verstappen would easily dominate them in the same machinery:

“If Max were sitting in a McLaren right now, he would simply devour Oscar Piastri alive, he would destroy him. The same goes for Lando Norris; he would be completely defenseless against Verstappen. Both are obviously strong and talented drivers, each with their own strengths, but neither comes close to Max Verstappen's level, which is astonishingly high.
