Another slap for Hamilton: "His pace is zero..."

This time Giedo van der Garde offered some blunt words to the suffering seven-time world champion, who warned: There is very little that he is producing compared to Charles Leclerc.
But according to the Dutchman, there is an even bigger problem, namely that Lewis Hamilton seems to be losing all his self-confidence. This will further push him down the slope:
“In Jeddah, we saw what we have seen so far. He had no pace, none at all. Leclerc was beating him by one and a half to two seconds per lap, and then he was waved off 30 seconds behind. I think he doesn’t really know where forward is anymore; he actually has very serious problems. His disadvantage is too great, and it increasingly seems that he will not be able to overcome this burden alone. Moreover, his self-confidence also seems to be dwindling, which is completely unusual for him...
These are very bad signs for the rest of the season. He is inherently a driver who needs confidence and faith in the car, and those two things are absolutely not visible in him. I don’t think he will be able to solve this situation... As I said, if you are getting 30 seconds from your teammate, that can be very demoralizing. Except for the Chinese sprint qualifying, he finished behind Leclerc every other time, and with a significant gap. Leclerc has wormed his way into his head, and he won’t be leaving there anytime soon.” - Giedo van der Garde concluded.
